A nuclear escort for |[beta]|-catenin

Nicholas S. Tolwinski & Eric Wieschaus

As the dust settles on the most recent controversy concerning Armadillo's (Arm or β-catenin) role in Wnt-dependent transcription, researchers are now returning to the question of what Arm actually does in the nucleus and how it gets there. The basic model of Wingless (Wg or Wnt) signalling depends on the Wnt ligand binding to the surface of a cell through its receptors Frizzled and Arrow.
