A Bit-role for integrins in apoptosis

Abstract
As cell adhesion receptors, integrins provide cues to the cell about the physical nature of its immediate micro-environment. Integrins not only promote adhesion to the extracellular matrix (ECM), but provide anchor points for the cytoskeleton and mediate signalling events through a complex of associated kinases and adaptor proteins.
