Abstract
Activation of stress-activated protein kinases (SAPKs) is essential for proper cell adaptation to extracellular stimuli. The exposure of yeast cells to high osmolarity, or mutations that lead to activation of the Hog1 SAPK, result in cell-cycle arrest.
