Abstract
Epithelial cells, which typically are polarized, spatially organized and tightly packed, can undergo dynamic changes in morphology and motility termed epithelial-mesenchymal transitions (EMTs). Although EMT is a key process in development and wound healing, it has also been implicated in neoplastic transformation, particularly invasion and metastasis.
