Tumour suppression: something for nothing?

Abstract
Tumour suppressors are genes that contribute to the development of tumours when inactivated by mutation. These genes highlight the processes used by normal cells to resist becoming cancerous and, consequently, provide potential targets for the prevention and treatment of cancer.
