More than one way to replicate the Golgi apparatus

Although most work on mitosis has focused on the replication and segregation of the genetic material, the cytoplasmic organelles of the cell must also double in size or number, and then be accurately partitioned between the daughter cells. The mechanism by which this occurs has received renewed attention, not just as an interesting problem in its own right, but also because it may provide clues as to how the structure and size of organelles is maintained in interphase cells.
