Redox rescues virus from ER trap

The concept of a viral replication cycle is exceedingly simple, yet its mechanisms hold many secrets. Upon engulfment of a virus by the host cell, uncoating of the viral genome from the protective capsid is required for the activation of viral genes, using the transcriptional machinery of the host cell to drive synthesis of viral progeny.
