Biddable death
Abstract
Mice lacking the pro-apototic protein Bid are resistant to the lethal effects of |[lsquo]|death-factor|[rsquo]| signals relayed through Fas. But whereas Bid-deficient hepatocytes are resistant to Fas-mediated apoptosis, thymocytes and embryonal fibroblasts are not. This confirms the cell-type specificity of the Bid-dependent mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.
