Abstract
The GTPase Rab5 regulates the fusion of early endosomes. Activated Rab5 interacts with phosphatidylinositol-3-OH kinase and with the endosome-tethering protein EEA1. These interactions lead to enhanced motility of endosomes along microtubules.
