Miami 2007 Winter Symposium
The Headquarters Hotel is the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Hotel, 4833 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140
The hotel is located on Collins Avenue and is on the ocean with beautiful beaches and tropical settings. It is minutes from the famous South Beach, good restaurants and attractions.
The Symposium Housing Bureau handles all reservations. Cut-off date for the Symposium hotel rates is January 9, 2007. After this date the Symposium Housing Bureau will continue to make reservations upon availability.
The Housing Bureau will take reservations new and old until January 22, 2007. The specially reduced hotel rates of $182 single/double/triple/quad; $257 for junior suite, one-bedroom oceanfront suites $307 (suites limited) are only available if reserved through us. Special rates have been negotiated for bona fide graduate students, postdoctoral and NIH or government workers at $152 single/double. Only a limited number of rooms available at the rate of $152. These rates do not reflect the 13% State/Local taxes.
Special Note About Hotel Prices
Visitors will know that in the volatile situation of the last 3 years, hotel prices have fluctuated widely and especially attractive rates may be obtained on line. But the rates we have negotiated with the Miami Beach Resort & Spa Hotel are fully competitive with on-line offerings. What is more, the $182 rate brings you benefits that you will not receive unless you make your room reservation via the Symposium. These include the discounted overnight parking rates, rooms with oceanfront views, and other amenities such as free local calls and free wired internet service (not wireless). Furthermore, the Hotel gives us the free use of the auditoria and meeting facilities in recognition of the business we bring. Without that, our very low registration fees would have to be increased.
The hotel is willing to work with us on securing the best rate for our group. We ask your cooperation by booking your hotel through us. Use the online Registration and Housing Form to register and reserve your hotel room.

Hotel cancellation policy
Deposits will be refundable until (3) three days prior to arrival. Any cancellation received after this date will be subject to the first night's room rate.
Travel Information
American Airlines is the official airline for the Miami Winter Symposium. They offer 5%-10% discounts on the lowest applicable fares if you book at least 7 days or more prior to the Symposium from anywhere in the U.S.A. and Canada. For domestic travel call: 1-800-433-1790 and identify the Symposium by STARfile: A2317AC. Discounts are available for international travel by calling your local American Airline ticket office. If you prefer to use your own travel agency, please have them identify you as a participant in the Symposium and use the STARfile number A2317AC.
AVIS, is the official car rental agency for the Symposium. Cars begin as low as $121.99 per week, ($39.99 per day). Free unlimited mileage, frequent flyer rewards, no charge for additional driver, 24 hour road service, and convenient locations at all Florida airports. Within the U.S.A., use AWD# K199446 and call 1-800-331-1600 or reserve on-line AVIS. Should a lower qualifying rate become available at the time of booking, Avis is pleased to offer a 5% discount off the lower qualifying rate or the meeting rate, whichever is lowest.
Super Shuttle Miami International Airport information number is 1-305-871-2000. Fare is approximately $25 per person, one-way.
Taxi service is available from the airport for approximately $40 one-way.
