Commercial interest waxes for IGF-1 blockers
Abstract
Years of dashed expectations over insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) blockers have seemingly ended, as a rash of candidates jostles its way into clinical trials. In April, Pfizer's inhibitor of the IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) for non–small-cell lung cancer became the first in its class to reach phase 3 trials.
