Agency on hiring spree
Abstract
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in April announced an ambitious plan to hire by the end of September more than 1,300 staff—nearly three times the number of people hired from 2005 to 2007. The agency hopes to achieve this goal with a temporary authority from the federal government allowing it to skip certain rating and ranking steps in the hiring process.
