(A) PCR determination of the presence of the NEP1 gene in various strains of Colletotrichum coccodes. The organism was co-transformed with a gene for hygromycin resistance. A representative example of three of the putative co-transformants after cultivation for four generations on hygromycin-containing medium is presented. (B) The presence of Nep1 protein in cotyledons infected by strain T-20 NEP1 Colletotrichum coccodes (western blot analysis) at two time points after inoculation.
