BIOSCIENCES FEDERATION
(STAND NO: 28)
Did you know that many conferences are organised and financed by learned societies (academic organisations) which, in many cases, will offer their members reduced registration and travel grants to attend? In the UK the Biosciences Federation (www.bsf.ac.uk) acts as an over-arching body for over 50 bioscience member societies and represents them in science policy matters. The individual societies support their members in their research in some of the following ways:
- Reduced registration fees to conferences
- Travel grants to attend conferences/ other labs/ training courses
- Specialised conferences and committees for postgraduates and junior postdoctoral researchers
- Career development workshops/support
- Small research grants
The Biosciences Federation will be represented by 4 of its major society members at The Source Event: Biochemical Society, British Ecological Society, Physiological Society and the Society for Experimental Biology. Come and visit our stand to find out more about us.
