Post-doctoral research fellow positions are available to pursue a detailed genetic interrogation of host genes involved in multiprotein virus-host interactions that regulate HIV infection. These projects will use a combination of bioinformatic and genetic approaches, and next-generation technologies to examine the effects of genetic polymorphism in cellular factors identified by genome-wide analyses for which a plausible biological mechanism of action for the gene was found. Genetic epidemiological studies will seek to determine the genetic basis for the variation observed in human populations in the natural history of HIV infection.
