Salary: £26,580 – £38,370 per annum

Post 2 – Fixed term for 18 months in the first instance
Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Associates to work in the research group of Professor Anne Dell FRS, Professor Howard Morris FRS, and Dr Stuart Haslam.
The first post offers the applicant to work on a project which is a part of a major BBSRC-funded core grant which supports collaborative glycobiology research. The successful candidate will be responsible for glycomic and glycoproteomic components of the research programme including the development of tools for the rapid, automatic interpretation of mass spectra and their incorporation into data bases.
The appointment will be fixed term for three years and will start as soon as possible.
The second position is associated with two sources of funding: (i) a major BBSRC-funded core grant which supports collaborative glycobiology research, and (ii) a Translation grant from the EPSRC supporting the UK Glycoarray Consortium. The successful candidate will be responsible for mass spectrometric aspects of the two grants and for providing the bioinformatics support to the Glycoarray Consortium.
The appointment will be fixed term for eighteen months in the first instance and will start as soon as possible.
Applicants for both posts should have completed a PhD in the biological or computer sciences, or have the equivalent qualifications and experience. You must be able to demonstrate experience in at least one of the following areas: biopolymer mass spectrometric analysis, glycobiology and bioinformatics.
