diseases.

Job Qualifications

Perform experiments relevant to the molecular
pathogenesis of retinal diseases.

Required qualifications
-Ph.D. in a field related to molecular biology/biochemistry
-Ability to think independently and work cooperatively
Preferred experience
-Computer literacy
-Working with BACs
-Enzyme Kinetics
-Working with animals
-Southern, Northern, Western, PCRs,
-Preparation of in situs
-Immunostaining
-Microscopy

Job Description
The retina is the most accessible part of the central nervous system for genetic manipulations. Our newly renovated laboratory at the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University is developing strategies for the prevention or delay of retinal degenerations (Tsang S.H.,et al Science272: 1026-1029
Tsang, S. H., et al, Science. 282, 117-21). Other interests include cell fate determination in the mammalian retina.
