Gastroenterologist – Loyola University Medical Center
Loyola University Health System and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine invites applications for a full time clinical practice gastroenterologist.
The ideal candidate should have excellent skills in general gastroenterology as well as a focused clinical interest and expertise in a specific area including but not limited to allergic diseases of the GI tract, genetic risk for GI cancers, esophageal disease, and GI motility disorders. The candidate should be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Gastroenterology and possess an Illinois license at the time of appointment. The preferred candidate will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Based in the western suburbs of Chicago, Loyola University Health System is a quaternary care system with a 61 acre main medical center campus and 22 primary and specialty care facilities in Cook, Will and DuPage counties. The medical center campus is conveniently located in Maywood, 13 miles west of the Chicago Loop. Loyola University Hospital is a 570 licensed bed facility currently undergoing a significant expansion. Loyola houses a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Burn Center, Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Loyola Outpatient Center, Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine and Loyola Oral Health Center. LUC Stritch School of Medicine, the LUC Niehoff School of Nursing are located on the same campus as is the Loyola Center for Health & Fitness.
Loyola University Medical Center has a close partnership with Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, which lies immediately east of Hines' campus. Most faculty members of have joint appointments at Hines and Loyola students and resident physicians rotate through Hines as part of their training. Researchers from Loyola and Hines collaborate closely on many federally funded studies
