FACULTY POSITION Physics - Atomic, Molecular and Optical physics ; NYU Shanghai : Shanghai, China
NYU Shanghai’s Department of Physics is currently inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the general areas of Atomic, Molecular and Optical physics. Candidates with interests in Hard Condensed Matter physics will also be considered. The opening is for an experimental physicist.
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. and are expected to establish a leading research program in their field, as well as teach at the undergraduate level. This position is part of an initiative to create a strong program in this area, through the hiring of several faculty, with the aim of establishing research programs that relate strongly to those at other NYU campuses. The appointment could begin as soon as September 1, 2017, pending administrative and budgetary approvals.
The terms of employment in NYU Shanghai are comparable to U.S. institutions with respect to research start-up funds and compensation, and they include housing subsidies and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may also spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the NYU global network, engaging in both research and teaching.
