BBSRC Funded Research Associate/Fellow in Mass Spectrometry

Applications are invited for the above post to work with Dr Neil Oldham in the School of Chemistry and in close collaboration with Dr Rob Layfield in the School of Biomedical Sciences. The role will involve the study of non-covalent complexes between ubiquitin and ubiquitin binding domains (UBDs) and the mapping of polyubiquitin linkage topology by mass spectrometry through the development of new methodology (including associated techniques, e.g. liquid chromatography and ion mobility).

Candidates must hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD and have a strong background in mass spectrometry. They should also have proven practical, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Salary will be within the range £22,332 – £25,889 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (£24,403 maximum without PhD). This post is available from 1 August 2008 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of three years.
