Science jobs and vacancies from Nature jobs
Associate Editor, NCI-Nature Pathway Interaction Database
Summary
Description
Nature Publishing Group is looking for an organized and creative science graduate with a strong background in cellular biology to lead the editorial team of the Pathway Interaction Database (http://pid.nci.nih.gov).
The Database is a collaboration between NPG and the US National Cancer Institute. It is a growing, high quality collection of peer-reviewed data about signaling pathways in human cells. The website is regularly monthly with editorial content and primers on other key biological information resources. This is an innovative publication of a type that is becoming increasingly important in academic publishing, and we are looking for someone who is eager to further establish the Database as a major information resource for researchers.
The Associate Editor will take responsibility for site’s content and high scientific quality and will contribute to the curation of the Database content. The editor will work as part of the existing teams in NPG’s Web Publishing department, will have close interactions with NPG journal editors, and will liaise with the National Cancer Institute. The editor will have a PhD in cell biology or related field and will have a broad experience of signaling pathways, ideally but not necessarily related to human cancer. An experience of database curation would be an advantage. An enthusiasm for the exploitation of the web is crucial.
This position can be based in our offices in Boston, New York or London.
NPG is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
