Health Data Informatician
Summary
Description
The challenge: To ensure the delivery of clear and meaningful structured treatment information across the site. On PatientsLikeMe, thousands of members entrust to us real-world treatment information. The result is a rich and varied collection ranging from pharmaceuticals to alternative therapies: Prozac to prayer. Your task is to understand and curate this data set, and through this experience design tools and systems to facilitate future curation and use. You will manage, edit, and build the ontology that combines real world patient-entered data with information from the FDA, treatment databases, and other research sources to forge the world’s best disease treatment information.
You will be responsible for the accuracy and quality of our treatment reports, on everything from prescription pharmaceuticals to over-the-counter treatments, experimental supplements, and equipment such as wheelchairs and assistive speech devices.
In addition to managing the database, you will join our exceptional R&D team, responsible for developing new communities and features for our members. Part of your role will be to invent better ways to use this information to inform patients and the medical care system.
We will consider all backgrounds but we are looking for someone with an obsessive focus on getting it right the first time. Qualifications could include being a Medical Editor, Medical Librarian, PharmD, Health Information Manager, MD, or similar.
Tell us your relevant experience and be very competent with use of the web as a research tool. You want to help patients make better treatment decisions by giving them the information they need.
