    <![CDATA[A postdoctoral position is available for immediate recruitment for a highly motivated candidate to join a team of researchers at Baylor Research Institute and Sammons Cancer Center, Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA. An ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. or a M.D. degree with a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology, as demonstrated by their publication record. Previous training in molecular research on human cancers will be preferred. 

The laboratory headed by Dr. C. Richard Boland, M.D. focuses on understanding the molecular genetics and epigenetics of colon cancer. One of the main interests of the lab is on understanding how epigenetic mechanisms regulate the transition of a normal epithelial cell to a cancer cell. The successful applicant will engage in scientific research involving various ongoing projects including 

a) Epigenetic modifications in colorectal cancer including DNA methylation, histone modifications and microRNAs  

b) Role of a human polyomavirus JC virus in gastrointestinal cancers and 

c) Chemoprevention in colorectal cancer by various dietary interventions.
