    <![CDATA[*Project Overview:*
This is a full time position (40 hour/week) responsible for supporting research on rodent experiments to address how blast overpressure (BOP) effects on the thorax contribute to brain injury and to evaluate how Kevlar vests protect the brain. We propose to measure, compare, and correlate external, systemic (e.g. vascular areterial and venous) and central (e.g. intracranial pressure) BOP-induced pressure changes, and asses the impact of Kevlar vests on these changes. 

*Research Study Responsibilities:*
Collaborates and assists the Principle Investigator, Co-investigators and research team in the performance of the research study
Contributes to the drafting and submitting of abstracts, manuscripts and reports for dissemination
Prepares progress reports on research as required
Analyzes and writes up data
Presents complex information effectively to a range of audiences
Provide data management assistance
Provide project close-out support
Supports the following research activities:
        +  Performing biochemical analysis, cell counting and histopathology
        +  Evaluating efficacy of treatments  


*Requirements* 
*US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED* and ability to pass a National Agency Check
PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemical Engineering or related field required
Experience in neuroscience, brain trauma or neuropathology 
Experience in small animal rodent surgeries  
Experience with basic histopathology 
Knowledge of military system preferred. 
Knowledge of research techniques. 
Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication. 
Experience of multi-disciplinary working groups. 
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and e-mail.  

*Work Qualifications, Working Conditions, and Travel:*
Physically able to stand and bend while interacting with research subjects and sit for prolonged periods while collecting data and completing paperwork
Able to lift 20 pounds utilizing proper lifting techniques
Must be willing to travel for business as required of research study
Must possess a valid state driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
May be required to work in confined spaces and may need to share office space with others
