We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic research assistant/research fellow to develop dynamic models of the regulation of amino acid starvation responses in yeasts. This collaborative interdisciplinary project, led by Al Brown and George Coghill, integrates mathematical modelling with experimental biology. To be appointed as a Research Fellow you should have a PhD in a Systems Biology related discipline or an MSc plus experience in mathematical modelling of biological responses which demonstrates the skills and capabilities to work at this level. Candidates without a Postgraduate qualification but with applicable experience would be appointed at Research Assistant level. They will join a vibrant multi-disciplinary team of physical, computational and biological scientists within the Systems Biology and Aberdeen Fungal Groups at Aberdeen University.

As this post is funded by the BBSRC it will be offered for a period of up to 18 months.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 scale (£29,704 - £35,469 per annum) for Research Fellows and Grade 5 scale (£24,877 to £27,999) for Research Assistants. Placement on the appropriate scale will be according to qualifications and experience.
