To support its research strategy, the BioAnalytical Science Department at the NRC is seeking a:

*Metabolomics Scientist in Nutrition*

who will work within the Metabolomics & Biomarkers group.

*Main responsibilities:*
- Analysis of biological matrices (biofluids, tissue, cell cultures) using mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR & LC-NMR/MS).
- Develop metabolic profiling strategies (metabolomics and lipidomics) including data modelling for pathway visualization and interpretation.
- Metabolite identification using both NMR and MS.
- Designing new clinical studies for Nutritional Metabolomics.

*Required profile:*
- PhD in Biochemistry / Chemistry / Biology or associated fields with demonstrated skills in the field of metabolomics.
- Strong expertise in the application of NMR and MS to the analysis of small molecules including application of chemometrics for biomarkers discovery (metabolomics) and structure elucidation of organic compounds.
- Experience in the application of NMR and MS for metabolic modelling and biochemical interpretation.
- Able to interact with a multidisciplinary team of statisticians, bioinformaticians, biochemists and nutritionists.
- Good communication skills in English.
