*Job Purpose* 
-	Responsible for planning and supervising all preclinical in vivo and in vitro experiments for 2-3 vaccine projects – involved in new vaccines R&D projects
-	Supervision of  technicians and managers
-	Organize and plan the team work
-	Discuss new experiments 
-	Set-up of new methods
-	Analyze the results and decide the next steps
-	Share with the team the GSK strategy (objectives, milestones)
-	Motivate and enable people to do their best work
-	Help people to develop themselves
-	Literature follow-up
-	Lab management 


*Responsibilities*
-	Generation of preclinical immuno data covering 2-3 projects with high quality and on time.
-	Participation to Management Team meetings
-	Report the activities of the group to project teams, technical teams and management (presentations, memos, briefing documents, bi-monthly reports, etc)
-	Interactions with other R&D services as well as other Biologicals departments is part of the job


*Profile*
-	A PhD in Bacteriology/Immunology or a closely related area.  
-	A research background in bacterial infections, ideally including a detailed understanding of Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae or Moraxella.
-	Experience of in vivo models 
-	A strong scientific credibility
-	Good communication and collaborative skills
-	Fluency in English.
-	An enthusiastic scientist with team leading capabilities
