Full-Time
*Sector: Industry
Location: Horsham, Sussex*
Salary: Competitive

Working as part of a small team, you will support research activities in target and drug discovery, focusing primarily on therapeutic antibodies for respiratory diseases.

As a molecular biologist/biochemist educated to BSc/MSc (or equivalent) level, you will use your relevant hands-on laboratory experience to contribute to the cloning, expression and purification of proteins as tools for drug discovery. Your specific areas of expertise are likely to include some or all of the following: general molecular biology (generating cDNA libraries, PCR, DNA manipulation); SDS-PAGE; ELISA; creation of transient and permanent cell lines; expression of recombinant protein using E. coli and / or mammalian cell types; purification of expressed proteins using basic chromatography (affinity, ion exchange; size exclusion).

Direct experience of the engineering, expression and testing of therapeutic antibodies would be desirable, but if you want to bring a more general skill set to this area of research, we would actively encourage you to apply. In all cases, you must be a self-motivated and enthusiastic professional who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
