The Division of Cellular Immunology at the DKFZ, to be headed as of 2010 by Prof. Hans-Reimer Rodewald, invites applications for

*Postdocs* (Ref-No. 123/2009)

The laboratory focuses on thymus biology (Müller et al. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. 2005; Terszowski et al. Science 2006, Rodewald Ann. Rev. Immunol. 2008), hematopoiesis (Feyerabend et a l. Immunity 2009; Waskow et al. Nat. Methods 2009) and mast cells biology (Feyerabend et al. Nat. Chem. Biol. 2006; Schneider, Schlenner et al. J. Exp. Med. 2007). The laboratory is funded by the DKFZ, by the DFG, and by an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant.

For the Postdoc positions, we are seeking highly motivated and talented scientist to work on mechanisms of thymus development, maintenance and aging, on fate mapping of developmental pathways from hematopoietic stem cells to mature immune cells, or on the physiological functions of mast cells. We are employing molecular and cellular tools to address fundamental aspects of these areas of immunology with strong emphasis on in vivo processes.

The successful candidates will join an international and young team of immunologists.

Applicants must hold a degree in biology, medicine, molecular medicine or similar fields (PhD position) or a PhD or medical degree in these areas (Postdoc positions).
