<![CDATA[*ACADEMIC SURGICAL PATHOLOGISTS
GI/Breast/GYN*

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine of the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking full-time faculty members to join a subspecialty clinical service group. This is an open-rank position; compensation and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Candidates should be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Wisconsin. The successful candidates must have a proven track record/expertise in the field, or must have completed a subspecialty fellowship in GI/liver pathology, breast pathology or GYN pathology. Individuals interested in pursuing clinical and translational research and developing national recognition in their fields of interest are particularly encouraged to apply. The position will involve service work in the candidate's field of expertise, teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and students in the allied sciences at the Medical College of Wisconsin, as well as participation in research.

The Department of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin consists of 38 faculty members that serve four hospitals, including Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Community Memorial Hospital, and the Zablocki V.A. Medical Center. A total of more than 55,000 surgicals and 85,000 cytologies are accessioned through the system yearly. The department has recently transitioned to a subspecialty sign-out system and is currently expanding its clinical services as well as its residency and fellowship programs. We are also creating a translational research core facility that will serve the needs of the entire pathology faculty and will offer full-service, state-of-the-art molecular testing, cytogenetics, and other novel modern techniques currently applied to anatomic pathology. This laboratory will be available to all faculty members and adequate financial and technical support will be provided for faculty members who wish to develop a successful academic career. Opportunities for collaboration with basic science departments and clinical and translational investigators throughout the system are numerous. Expansion of our current facilities includes a brand new Cancer Center and a new Biomedical Research Building.

The candidates will be based at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, which is the main adult medical facility at the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, a comprehensive 225-acre medical campus located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Milwaukee. Milwaukee is a culturally diverse city on the shores of Lake Michigan, 90 miles north of Chicago, which supports urban, suburban and semi-rural lifestyles with excellent school systems and a vibrant, cosmopolitan and ethnically diverse community. Music, sports, education, and a variety of cultural affairs are available. Please send a copy of curriculum-vitae plus names/addresses of 4 references to the attention of:
