Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)
REDD LAND-USE CHANGE MODELLER

A Land Use Change Modeller is required for an interdisciplinary team working in a new EU Framework 7 project (www.redd-alert.eu) aimed at evaluating bottom-up approaches to reduce net global greenhouse gas emissions through avoided deforestation in the tropics. You will possess a PhD in a relevant subject, together with experience in modelling the social and economic processes of land use change and its impact on associated biophysical processes. An understanding of the processes of tropical deforestation, and knowledge of current REDD discussions in various global fora, would also be advantageous.

Experience of inter-disciplinary working, project management, and a track record in publishing peer-reviewed papers and generating external funding are all desirable.
