<![CDATA[Software Test Engineer (f/m), Switzerland

Reference: CH-GDS-3020

The Company
Genedata develops and globally markets sophisticated computational solutions for drug discovery and related research processes in the life sciences. Genedata’s solutions enable scientists to process, integrate, analyze, and manage large and complex experimental data sets generated by high throughput technologies. Solutions include Genedata Phylosopher® for target discovery and integrative biological data management, Genedata Screener® for automated high throughput screening and high content screening, and Genedata Expressionist® for biomarker discovery and personalized medicine. Founded in 1997, Genedata is privately held, with headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, and offices in Boston & San Francisco, USA, Konstanz & Munich, Germany and Tokyo, Japan.

The Position

Based at the Genedata headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, you will be a member of our development team for the Genedata Screener® system for pharmaceutical screening data analysis. Your main responsibilities will be:
•Functional Testing and Usability Testing of the software under development
•Creation and maintenance of test scripts
•Qualification of bug reports and confirmation of bug fixes
Moreover, as a member of an agile development team, you will actively participate in the whole software life cycle, starting from the definition and refinement of requirements to the maintenance of the product. You will closely collaborate with the rest of the development team, product management and the service team.

Your Profile

To successfully fill this position you have an excellent working knowledge of several common software applications (MS Office is a must and at least one scientific application is highly desirable). You have a very good working knowledge of the Windows operating system and at least basic skills in UNIX. You have experience with at least one object-oriented programming language and are able to think like a developer. Your quick grasp of features essentials and your good communication skills let you write to-the-point test scripts. Your strong analytical skills enable you to quickly narrow down your findings and create consolidated bug reports. You have excellent English speaking and writing skills or you are a native speaker.
Ideally you have a degree in either computer science or natural science and have experience in professional software development – either as a test engineer or as a programmer. You have worked in a medium size team and are familiar with agile development processes such as scrum. You are a strong team player who is willing to take responsibilities but also knows when to share them.
We provide an exciting opportunity to join a successful key software development project, to work on a dynamic project team, and to participate in our success as an international and interdisciplinary company.
