The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB; http://www.utmb.edu) invites applications to fill multiple, tenure-track faculty positions in translational neuropharmacology programs.The ideal candidates are motivated scientist-educators with dynamic research programs who will provide intellectual leadership in research and complement expertise at UTMB and regional institutions. Faculty positions require a Ph.D., a competitive record of publications and evidence of the ability to conduct and fund an active research program. Successful candidates will be engaged in teaching and mentoring at the graduate and medical school level.The ability to work within a discovery and translational science team comprised of biologists, preclinical and clinical scientists is a must. *Organic or Medicinal Chemistry*

A tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology will be filled in collaboration with the Center for Addiction Research, the Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases and the Department of Neurology. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry and work at the interface of chemistry and biology with a focus on the design and synthesis of biologically active molecules for probing function as well as for developing new small molecule therapeutics or vaccines. Knowledge of molecular modeling, in silico approaches, high-throughput, and/or high-content screening, with assay development in mind is a plus. Research backgrounds and interest in elucidating mechanism-based target pathways in addiction biology, neurodegeneration and neuroscience is preferred.
