<![CDATA[The Department of Physiology at Dartmouth Medical School invites applications for an entry-level tenure-track Assistant Professor position in anticipation of a competitive New Faculty Recruitment (P30) award from the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke, as part of the American Recovery and Restoration Act (ARRA). The Department is home to established research programs in diverse areas of physiology and has earmarked neurobiology as one of the priorities for development and new faculty recruitment. We seek a neurobiologist interested in an integrative understanding of the development, structure and/or function of brain regions as relevant to neurological disorders or neural dysfunction in general. Dartmouth offers competitive salary and start-up support, a highly collegial neuroscience environment (e.g., http://dms.dartmouth.edu/ncd/) and abundant opportunities to collaborate with investigators affiliated with the Departments of Genetics, Medicine, Neurology, Pharmacology, Psychiatry, and Psychological and Brain Sciences. Individuals holding Ph.D. and/or M.D., or equivalent degrees, with three or more years of postdoctoral experience and using innovative combinations of molecular, genetic, cellular and systems approaches are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in research and strong potential for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative extramural funding. After one year of protected time, we expect limited participation in the team taught Medical School Year-One course in Physiology and in the Graduate School curriculum. Given that the ARRA P30 is a fast-tracked faculty recruitment mechanism, consideration of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. Interested applicants should submit (preferably electronically in PDF format) a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research directions, teaching plans, and complete contact information of five references to:
