LOCATION:     REPRODUCTIVE PHYSIOLOGY DIVISION-ENDO UNIT/CRES – WILD ANIMAL PARK

Interested applicants must be available full-time for one year from the date of hire.  Primary work location is at the San Diego Zoo’s Center for Conservation and Research for Endangered Species (CRES) adjacent to the Wild Animal Park.  The successful applicant will join the Reproductive Physiology Division, and will be expected to develop semi-quantitative assays used to predict reproductive status (i.e. ovulation, pregnancy, parturition) from urine, serum or other biological samples in exotic species.  The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field; however candidates with a Bachelors of Science and relevant laboratory experience will also be considered.  Experience with competitive binding assays, Western blotting, immunochromatography and protein purification is highly desirable.  The successful applicant will also possess a basic understanding of reproductive physiology and endocrinology.
