Abstract submissionMiami 2009 Winter Symposium: Interpreting the Human Genome

We invite and encourage the submission of abstracts from interested scientists. Abstracts submitted between now and January 5, 2009 will be considered for presentation as posters. You must register for the meeting prior to submitting an abstract. You will be notified of acceptance no later than Monday January 12, 2009.

PLEASE NOTE: Abstracts from anyone who is not registered for the meeting will not be considered.

Abstracts will be published in the meeting book and also appear online.

Abstract Submission Rules and Requirements

  • With respect to research on human subjects, the organizers endorse the protections embodied in the Basic Principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and their expansion in the regulations governing research supported by the U.S. Government (45 CFR Part 46; 56 FR 28003). Research not in accordance with these Principles will not be accepted. Investigations involving animals reported in abstracts must have been conducted in conformance with approved principles of the care and use of animals in research.
  • The abstract should include a statement of purpose, methods used, and a summary of results in sufficient detail to support the conclusion. Statements such as "results will be described" should be avoided.
  • The organizers reserve the right to decline a presentation to any submitted abstracts that lack scientific content or merit, or merely announce the availability of a resource or service.

Preparation and submission of abstracts

  • Prepare your abstract in Microsoft Word.
  • Use the presenter's last name as the document file name for your abstract.
  • Abstract title should appear in BOLD, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, in 14-point Times New Roman Font. Remaining text should appear in 12-point Times New Roman Font.
  • Please list the authors and affiliations directly under the title, separated by one empty line, and followed on additional lines as necessary. Underline the name of the presenting author.
  • Separate the authors/affiliations and beginning of the abstract narrative by one empty line.
  • For each author give the forename followed by the surname.
  • Indicate each author's affiliation with a superscript numeral following the surname.
  • Abstract narrative must be clear and concise, and checked for correctness of spelling and grammar in advance of submission.
