Unistat

From Unistat
Of all the small statistical and graphical packages examined, version 4 of this Windows package had the best interplay between analysis and graphical display.

UNIQUE GRAPHICS FEATURES: There is nothing unique to Unistat that is not in Sygraph or Statistica, but the fact that so many of the strengths of Sygraph and Statistica show up in a software package of this size is unusual.

STRENGTHS: Unistat has many strengths, including its very good three-dimensional capabilities, multivariate statistical graphics, icon graphics, and xy plot options. Unistat also has the capability to generate three-dimensional bivariate histograms, which for some reason most packages do not offer. The package has an extensive set of functions readily available for plotting, fitting or creating data. Moreover, it also has interactive data links within its xy plot graphics, which are excellent for outlier inspection. They have packed a lot of good graphics into this package.

WEAKNESSES: Unistat's weakness is a lack of attention to factorial designs, ternary plots and graphics of model diagnostics.

LIKELY USERS: Unistat would be good for anyone who is looking for a small, very powerful package with imaginative graphical capabilities.
