What makes scientists tick: Views and views

'You are all individuals', apart form that Life of Brian ('I'm not') character of course. In that spirit, the individuality of scientists can be measured — and hopefully enjoyed — in a new series starting in Nature this week. In 'Lifelines', working scientists are challenged to summarize themselves in the form of a title of a Nature paper, name their principal influences, favourite music, books and places. Revealing stuff, though their favourite colour will remain their secret. Daniel Pauly of the University of British Columbia is first in the spotlight.
