In the News & Views article 'Particle physics: axions exposed' by Maria Paola Lombardo (Nature 539, 40–41; 2016), the bar labelled 'ADMX' in Figure 1 indicates the approximate range of axion masses that can be accessed by the ADMX experiment, combined with estimates for the range of the future ADMX Gen 2 experiment. The depicted upper limit was originally 20 μeV, as shown by T. Dafni et al. (Nucl. Part. Phys. Proc. 273–275, 244–249; 2016). Other upper limits have also been estimated (for example, 30 μeV and 40 μeV, as presented in references 4 and 11 of the News & Views article, respectively). The figure has now been changed online to reflect these other ranges.
