    Oren Etzioni and Nature should be disclosing that Professor Etzioni is the co-founder of a company that competes with Google and Microsoft in online search/shopping for consumer electronics. Although Professor Etzioni does not mention this company in his Nature Comment, he is using press coverage of this article to promote his start-up. See, for example: http://www.networkworld.com/news/2011/080311-websearch-washington-bing-google.html .

    (This seems to clearly fall under Nature's policy on competing financial interests.)
