Depiction of a next generation MBR-based treatment method that can potentially take wastewater from municipal, agricultural, livestock or other high-organic-content sources and convert it to potable water. Future methods may be able to omit the RO step with a nanofiltration membrane, and follow with a visible light disinfection step to ensure that all pathogens, including viruses, are inactivated.
