Volcanic hills could sequester greenhouse gas.

Encompassing most of central and western India, the Deccan Traps is the world's largest continental flood-basalt province outside Siberia. In the 1970s, it was a candidate for storing nuclear waste, but fears of ground-water contamination killed that idea.
