Time to rebuild
In the wake of last October's tragic earthquake in Pakistan, the government is committed to building a new seismic network, and the universities are expanding seismology and earthquake engineering departments. But for all this to bear fruit, the nation's military government must adopt a more open approach to sensitive data. And seismology will need to remain a priority long after the memory of the recent disaster fades.
