Abstract
For decades, California has bucked the US trend of gobbling ever more electricity. But can the state pull off an even more ambitious goal and slash its greenhouse-gas emissions? Charles Petit finds out.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a mission: he wants to terminate global warming. In June, the California governor called for the state to slash its greenhouse-gas emissions to 80% of 1990 levels in the next 45 years.
