Tough retirement laws in Europe and Japan mean there are plenty of frustrated ex-scientists forced to stop doing what they do best. Some are finding innovative ways of staying in the loop, and when they do their experience means they have much to offer. Though with a demographic pensions crisis promised, will future generations have to work until they drop?
