It's a Dog's life
Attempts to clone dogs using the method that made Dolly have failed due to the difficulty of maturing canine oocytes in vitro. This obstacle was by-passed in an experiment that produced two Afghan hounds by nuclear transfer from adult fibroblasts into oocytes matured in vivo.
