Shown are representative photomicrographs of ApoE-/- mouse aortic root cryosections, with the lumen of the artery at the right side of each photo. Immunofluorescence double-labelling was performed for CB2 receptors (green) and a cell-specific marker (red) for macrophages (MPhi) or T lymphocytes (CD4). Nuclei were stained in blue with DAPI. Analysis of atheroma from 4 different mice showed similar results.
