Abstract
Quantum computers offer a new kind of processing power. Silicon chips are easy to manufacture. Can the advantages of the two approaches be combined? Jenny Hogan reports.
For all their promise of fast and furious number-crunching, prototype quantum computers are bulky and impractical beasts. Some fill rooms but remain feeble calculators.
