A method that circumvents the problems of correlating different data sets has allowed the sequence of events at the last great deglaciation to be seen in finer detail.

Assessing how events in the tropics drive or amplify climate change has become a central issue for understanding climate in the past and predicting its future course. But there has been all too little information to go on.
