We note the bimodal distribution of observed SNPs (black) and the difference from the expected Poisson distribution (white) with an average of 14 SNPs per 10 kb (the observed rate across the entire data set). This indicates a very non-uniform distribution of SNPs in the genome with the presence of regions with a high SNP rate (approx45 SNPs per 10 kb) and regions with a low SNP rate (approx0.5 SNPs per 10 kb).
